Local Anesthetic Options For Dental Professionals and Their Patients

One of the most stressful moments of a dental professional’s training is giving that first injection. Rightfully so. In an appropriately common ground, patients also find the process less than fun. In fact, the dental injection and the fear of it keeps millions of people away from the dentist. Yet, this is technically the most common procedure a dentist can and should provide and without local anesthetic, time in the chair would be a nightmare. Can we learn to be thankful instead of fearful?

In this brief overview, Dr. Shaun talks about four types of local anesthetic, a general review onset and duration and which one he uses the most. Since every patient and their dental needs are different, it’s up to the clinician to find the one that best suites the situation.
